Leap offers an alternative to traditional day services by supporting families to create personalised, community-based opportunities:
1. Visioning and Planning
We help families identify individual strengths, interests, and aspirations and to develop community-focused support plans tailored to each person.
We guide families in building informal support through friendships, neighbours, local groups, and businesses.
We offer a range of workshops for families such as Leap’s Leadership for Inclusion Series which takes place over six months and connects families to a supportive network of other families pursuing an inclusive life.
3. Local Capacity-Building
We work with community organisations, schools, clubs, and employers to create welcoming, inclusive spaces and opportunities.
4. Facilitating Meaningful Roles
We support individuals in finding meaningful roles through college, employment, cultural activities and community participation.
5. Individualised Funding Guidance
Assist families in accessing and effectively managing personal budgets or individualised funding.
6. Family and Peer Support Networks
Establish peer-support networks for families to share experiences, resources, and practical advice.
7. Capacity and Skills Development
Provide training and workshops on inclusive practices, advocacy, employment supports, and community integration.
8. Advocacy and Community Education
Educate local stakeholders on the benefits of inclusion. Advocate for policy changes to promote inclusion and individualised funding.
